It arrived with a previous seller's card in the case reading CANADA m/m MISPRESS - that card is provenance, not evidence, and nothing photographed here supports or contradicts the mispress claim

Sleeve, labels and inserts

  • Shell - clear plastic with white on-body print, no paper label.
  • Inlay - the Columbia House multi-panel U-card, English and French.
  • A previous seller's card - cream stock, CANADA and m/m in black ballpoint with MISPRESS stamped in red, loose in the case. Provenance only: it records what a seller believed, not what the object shows.
  • Condition - card creased at the folds; shell clean and both side listings legible.

What distinguishes this pressing

  • The Columbia House Scarborough address - the discriminator, the same one that carries folders 60, 73 and 83.
  • 788059C on the spine - Discogs' recorded Columbia House number for 9550342.
  • The shell's SIDE ONE / SIDE TWO listings - checked against the album's running order at native resolution because of the seller's MISPRESS note. They read correctly: MOONCHILD • INFINITE DREAMS • CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS • THE EVIL THAT MEN DO and the four side-two titles. No printing error is present on this shell.
  • The MISPRESS claim is not evidence. If it refers to the recorded audio it cannot be judged from photographs at all, and nothing in the printing supports it. Recorded, attributed and left there.
  • Catalogue number C4-590258 - the match axis, returning a US row and a Canadian one.

  • Case/inlay: general handling wear with some edge and corner softening; no cracks or splits visible in these shots.
  • Shell: light surface marks and handling wear are visible. No visible warping, tape spillage or shell damage in these photographs.

Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.

What is settled, and what is not

Settled on the distributor line, with one claim deliberately left unresolved. The identification is straightforward and matches the other three Columbia House copies on this shelf.

The interesting part is the loose card a previous seller left in the case: CANADA, m/m, and MISPRESS in red. That is a third party's assertion about the object and the method here does not treat assertions as evidence. It was still worth a check, so the shell's printed side listings were cropped at native resolution and read against the album's running order - and they are correct, with no misprint. If the claim refers to the audio rather than the printing, a photograph cannot settle it.

So the card is recorded as provenance, the check that it prompted is recorded with its result, and no grade rests on either.

Standing caveat: a club pressing absent from Discogs cannot be excluded.
