Sleeve, labels and inserts

  • Shell - clear plastic, screwed, with a cream paper label on both faces and the sides moulded A and B. Folder 57's Turkish copy is a smoke-grey shell with a pale label and the sides unmarked.
  • Inlay - glossy card, English throughout, standard cover artwork.
  • Banderole - gold, serial VAG 0014187, intact.
  • Condition - inlay rubbed along the spine fold; both labels clean and fully legible.

What distinguishes this pressing

  • 88.34.Ü.008.2286 on the shell label - the discriminator. It matches 6299160's recorded identifier exactly and differs from 15093759's KTB 89.34.Ü.008.TCP.2286 in the year code and the missing TCP segment.
  • Standard cover artwork - the second discriminator, and the mirror of folder 57's: that copy's alternate art matches 15093759's note, this copy's standard art does not.
  • KENT ELEKTRONİK, İstanbul - the Turkish manufacturer, printed on the inlay and on both shell labels. Establishes the country from the object; shared with every Turkish row, so it separates none of them.
  • Banderole serial VAG 0014187 - a per-copy tax serial, not a per-release one. Recorded for provenance only.
  • Two Turkish copies now sit on this shelf, folders 57 and 64, and they are different releases rather than two of one - which is exactly what the registration strings say.

What is settled, and what is not

Settled, and it settles folder 57 more firmly too. Matching on the catalogue number alone, both Turkish copies say TCP 2286. The shell registration strings tell them apart: this one carries 88.34.Ü.008.2286 and 6299160 records exactly that; folder 57 carries 89.34.Ü.008.TCP.2286 and 15093759 records exactly that.

The covers agree with the split independently. 15093759 is noted Alternate cover art and folder 57's front panel is not the album's artwork; this copy's is. Having both copies in hand is what makes each identification stronger than it was alone - the pair demonstrates the difference rather than asserting it.

Standing caveat: this method cannot exclude a Turkish pressing absent from Discogs.
