The catalogue number 501 674-4 is printed on both shell faces and on the inlay spine as 501 674-4. The master holds exactly one Uruguayan cassette, 8696379, which records the same number. A single surviving candidate is not proof, and nothing legible here separates this copy from a hypothetical second Uruguayan row, so it grades Probable

Sleeve, labels and inserts

  • Shell - pale blue plastic, screwed, with a printed orange paper label on both faces. Quite unlike the EMI shells that print directly onto the plastic.
  • Inlay - thin paper J-card, English tracklist, with a separate loose paper insert carrying the credits.
  • Condition - labels lightly rubbed at the corners but wholly legible; the inlay is creased and the loose insert is browned.

  • AGADU - the Uruguayan authors' society. Country corroboration only: every Uruguayan release of the period carries it.
  • Catalogue number 501 674-4 - the match axis, on both shell labels and the inlay spine. Discogs writes it 501 674 - 4; the spacing differs, the number does not.

What is settled, and what is not

The country is stated on the object; the row is unopposed rather than proven. INDUSTRIA URUGUAYA (MADE IN URUGUAY) is printed on both shell labels, so this needs no inference from a rights society or a distributor, and 501 674-4 is printed there too.

The master holds one Uruguayan cassette and it carries that number. But the version list is incomplete by construction, and everything else legible here - AGADU, the Gioscia credit, the Spanish rights notice - belongs to the Uruguayan issue as a class rather than to one submission. There is no detail that would distinguish this row from a second one if a second existed, which is what separates Probable from Confirmed.

What would settle it: a plant or date code on a surface not yet photographed - the inner shell faces or the hubs - or a second Uruguayan row appearing in the master to test this one against.
