Folder 53
℗ DISCOS HISPANOS DEL PERU S.A. on the shell label, on a ground tiled with the same name - a phonogram-producer credit, not a place of manufacture, so it supports Peru without stating it. The country rests on this together with all three candidates independently crediting Discos Hispanos del Peru as manufacturer. It separates none of them.
Every line below was read off a native-resolution crop of the photograph named beside it.

It separates none of them.FE. 02.0198 - printed on the inlay spine and both shell labels. The match axis; it returns three rows.LEY Nº 23536 - quoted verbatim because a statute number is exactly the kind of detail that is usually release-specific. It is not usable here: none of the three Discogs rows records it, so there is nothing to compare it against.Bruce Dickinson - vocals · Dave Murray - lead and rhythm guitar · Adrian Smith - lead and rhythm guitar, synth · Steve Harris - bass, string synth · Nicko McBrain - drums.
Produced, engineered and mixed by Martin Birch. Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound, New York. Recorded at Musicland Studios, Munich. Sleeve illustration, concept and design by Derek Riggs (with Rod Smallwood). Inner-sleeve photograph by Ross Halfin. Published by Zomba Music Publishers Ltd.
Personnel and studio credits are sourced from Discogs release 576952, the UK original, and apply to the recording rather than to this pressing. The producer, publisher and copyright lines are independently corroborated by this copy's own label, quoted above.
A photograph cannot grade a record - this is a description of what is visible, not a grade.
Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.
Settled by the owner on 2026-09-18 -- the closing paragraph of this section says so, and the grade above follows it. What comes first is the photographic case exactly as it stood before that, present tense and all: where it says this copy stops at Narrowed, it means the photographs stop there, which is still true and is why the candidates are still listed.
Peru is well supported; which of three identical rows this is, is not. The shell label carries ℗ DISCOS HISPANOS DEL PERU S.A. on a ground tiled with that company's name. Read precisely, ℗ names the phonogram producer, not the place of manufacture - so this is not the 'Made in' statement folders 51 and 54 carry, and the country rests on the producer credit together with all three candidates crediting the same firm as manufacturer. That is strong, and it is not the same thing as reading the country off the object.
The catalogue number FE. 02.0198 returns three rows - 14803344, 27541692 and 27541767 - all Peru, all EMI, all 1988, all crediting Discos Hispanos del Perú. Their only differences are in how thoroughly each was catalogued: one notes Made in Peru, one notes Fabricado por – Discos Hispanos del Perú, S.A., one has no notes, and one records no format descriptors. Those are differences between submissions, not between pressings, and nothing read off this copy maps onto any of them.
One discrepancy is worth recording rather than resolving. The inlay carries (C) 1988 EMI ODEON CHILENA S.A. alongside the EMI Records and Iron Maiden Holdings lines - a Chilean company on a Peruvian tape. The country here is taken from the shell's manufacturing statement, not from that line: a copyright credit says who held rights, while ℗ DISCOS HISPANOS DEL PERU S.A. says who made the object. Both are recorded above so the discrepancy stays visible instead of being averaged away. It does not make this a Conflicting copy: the components do not disagree about manufacture, they describe two different things.
What would decide it: a plant, printer or date code somewhere on the tape. None is visible on any surface these photographs cover - but they do not cover the inner shell faces or the hubs, so photographing those is a real check rather than a formality. Failing that, this resolves only if the three Discogs rows are merged or genuinely differentiated.
Standing caveat: this method cannot exclude a pressing absent from Discogs.
Pinned by the owner, 2026-09-18. Everything above is what the photographs support on their own, and it is left standing unedited. On top of it the owner, holding the cassette and reading the candidate release pages against it, identifies this copy as Discogs 14803344, and the folder is graded on that. It is an owner's judgement, not a new detail in the frames: withdraw it and the case reverts to the narrowing above.
