Discogs records COL 111165 25-7-88 against two candidates and COL 111165 B 25-7-88 against a third - no entry records a 22-7-88 side B, so this stamper date is a new observation rather than a match.

The object, and what marks it out
Sleeve, labels and inserts
- Outer sleeve - standard artwork. The rear carries both the American Capitol manufacturing line and a Spanish-language Colombian one, so the artwork was taken from the US sleeve and overprinted locally.
- Labels - red rim with a cream centre, black text, Spanish rights text. Not the eye/Eddie artwork.
- Vinyl - black.
- Corners - the sleeve corners are rounded, which Discogs notes for three of the four Colombian entries.
What distinguishes this pressing
- Black vinyl, which is what excludes the Red and Blue Colombian pressings. The colour of the record is doing identification work here that no printed string does.
FABRICADO EN COLOMBIA POR DISCOS CBS S.A.- an EMI record physically pressed by CBS, a competitor, which is the kind of licensing arrangement that only shows up in smaller territories.SAYCO-ACINPRO- the Colombian collecting society, establishing the territory from the sleeve's own text.- Two different stamper dates,
25.7.88on side A and22.7.88on side B, three days apart. - A US Capitol manufacturing line on a Colombian record - the two credits sit on the same rear sleeve and contradict each other in origin, which is normal for licensed artwork and worth not mistaking for a mismatched copy.

Condition, from the photographs
A photograph cannot grade a record - this is a description of what is visible, not a grade.
- Sleeve: general handling wear with some edge and corner softening; no splits or seam separation visible in these shots.
- Vinyl: light surface marks and handling sheen catch the light. No visible deep scratches, warping or edge damage in these photographs. The labels are clean and unmarked.
Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.
What is settled, and what is not
Confirmed. Colombia and 111165 are certain. The master lists four Colombian vinyl entries under that number, and the colour of the record excludes half of them before any other evidence is needed - this copy is black:

The colour was nearly missed. The two coloured pressings carry Red and Blue in the text field of their format block rather than in descriptions, so a summary that prints only the descriptions shows all four as plain Vinyl LP, Album, Stereo - which is how this entry was first graded Narrowed (2). An external review caught it.
The side B stamper date is not used to exclude anything. This copy reads 22.7.88 there, and no cached Colombian entry records that date - 5382049 gives 25-7-88 and the rest record only a generic COL 111165 25-7-88. Using it against 5382049 while accepting the same mismatch on 2256739 would be uneven, so it is logged as an observation and left out of the reasoning. What the grade rests on is the vinyl colour and the Discos CBS credit.
Standing caveat: this method cannot exclude a pressing absent from Discogs.
