The mirror ring: VIDEOLAR, boxed EMI, 835.8192 - the strongest discriminator here. Discogs records exactly these three items on 30980734 (835.8192 EMI VIDEOLAR, Mirrored); 5776788 records 8358192 1098254, 18120427 VIDEOLAR 8358192 1098254 and 29424331 8358192 1098254 VIDEOLAR, none with an EMI and all with a 1098254 block that the photographed arcs do not show. Two of them (18120427, 29424331) are also recorded as repress/reissue with a mastering SID IFPI L562.

Brazil is settled by the object itself; which Brazilian entry is a call on the mirror ring. Four Brazilian CD entries in the committed version list share this catalogue family and barcode. The ring fragments read off the disc, VIDEOLAR, a boxed EMI and 835.8192, are the three items Discogs records on 30980734 (835.8192 EMI VIDEOLAR, marked Mirrored). The other three Brazilian entries record 8358192 1098254 with no EMI, and no 1098254 appears beside 835.8192 or VIDEOLAR in the ring frames. That is why this is Probable rather than Confirmed: only three short arcs of the ring were photographed, no mould or mastering SID code was, and the order of the three fragments around the ring comes from the owner's typed note, not from any frame. The owner's note (back cover 368 835819 2, 7 24383 58192 4, mirror ring VIDEOLAR EMI 835.8192) agrees with every string that can be read in the photographs; it was used for the fragment order only and did not choose between candidates. 30980734 also does not list the 368 835819 2 number that the back cover carries, so the catalogue axis is not a clean match either. The version list is incomplete by construction, so an uncatalogued Videolar pressing cannot be excluded

What the record says

Every line below was read off a native-resolution crop of the photograph named beside it.

Read off three separate raking-light frames of the disc's inner mirror ring, each showing one short arc. The frames read VIDEOLAR in etched capitals (IMG_3717), a boxed EMI logo (IMG_3718) and 835.8192 with a full stop (IMG_3720). The three arcs were not photographed together, so no frame shows the order around the ring; the sequence recorded in ring= as VIDEOLAR EMI 835.8192 follows the owner's typed note. Discogs records the same three items on 30980734 in the opposite order, 835.8192 EMI VIDEOLAR, marked Mirrored. No mould SID or mastering SID code was photographed, and the rest of the ring was not framed.

  • Barcode 7 24383 58192 4 - 30980734 records it as text and scanned 724383581924. All four Brazilian candidates carry the same barcode, so it corroborates the commercial release and does not separate the pressings.
  • 368 835819 2 on the back cover is the one loose end. Discogs lists it on 5776788, 18120427 and 29424331 but not on 30980734, whose own matrix reading is the only one that fits the ring. Either the entry omits a number the packaging carries or the sticker is shared across pressings; the photographs cannot say which.

  • Case/inlay: general handling wear with some edge and corner softening; no cracks or splits visible in these shots.
  • Disc: light surface marks and handling sheen catch the light. No visible deep scratches or disc-face damage in these photographs.

What is settled, and what is not

Probable: Brazil, EMI, Videolar-pressed, most likely Discogs 30980734.

The object says Brazil in its own words: MADE IN BRAZIL and INDÚSTRIA BRASILEIRA on the back cover, 1995 MADE IN BRAZIL on the disc, Videolar in Manaus as the plant and EMI-Odeon as the distributor. Four Brazilian CD entries in the committed version list carry this catalogue family and the barcode 7 24383 58192 4: 5776788, 30980734, 18120427 and 29424331. What separates them is the ring, and only 30980734 records the three items the ring frames show, 835.8192, EMI and VIDEOLAR. The other three record an 8358192 1098254 block that no photographed arc shows, and two of them are recorded as later repress/reissue copies.

Why this stops at Probable. The ring was photographed as three short arcs, so the block that would confirm or kill the other three candidates could sit in an arc that was never framed. No IFPI mould or mastering code was photographed either (30980734 records a mould ifpi 9604, the two repress entries record IFPI L562). The order of the three fragments around the ring rests on the owner's note, and it is the reverse of what Discogs records for 30980734, which means an exact comparison of the ring string would miss this entry on order alone even though the same three items are there. And 30980734 does not list the 368 835819 2 the back cover carries, where three other Brazilian entries do.

What would settle it: one raking-light photograph that frames the whole inner ring in a single view, so the order and any further block are visible, plus a photograph of the hub area for the IFPI mould code. IFPI 9604 with no 1098254 would confirm 30980734.

The version list is incomplete by construction, so an uncatalogued Videolar pressing sharing this ring cannot be excluded.
