Every line below was read off a native-resolution crop of the photograph named beside it.
Run-out photographed on all four sides, across roughly twenty macro frames. Disc one etches 5266061 on both sides, with the side letter legible as A on side one and B on side two; disc two etches 5266071 on both sides, with C legible on side three. Characters follow each letter on every side -- short dashes and upright strokes are plainly in frame -- but on a picture disc the etching is cut into clear vinyl over printed artwork rather than into black lacquer, and at these angles the trailing stamper marks blur past reading. The side letter on side four does not resolve at all.

The object, and what marks it out
Sleeve, labels and inserts
- Gatefold double album holding two picture discs -- printed vinyl with the artwork under the playing surface and no paper label on any of the four sides, so the side and track information is printed into the label area instead.
- Two printed inner sleeves: one with the band photograph, thanks-lists and fan-club block, one carrying the lyrics over a lilac panel, with the running order and production credits on its reverse.
- The gatefold interior is signed six times in black marker, across the band photograph on both halves of the spread. The signatures sit on the printed image, not on a card or sticker.
- A square retail sticker with the red
IRON MAIDENlogo is applied to the lower right of the front cover. - A loose American promotional flyer for the album, Columbia/Portrait branded, sits with the record; it is not part of the EMI package.
- The sleeve is scuffed along the outer corners and the top edge, with light surface wear across the front; the discs show handling marks and a fine haze on the play surface, as picture discs usually do.

Condition, from the photographs
A photograph cannot grade a record - this is a description of what is visible, not a grade.
- Sleeve: general handling wear with some edge and corner softening; no splits or seam separation visible in these shots.
- Vinyl: light surface marks and handling sheen catch the light. No visible deep scratches, warping or edge damage in these photographs. The labels are clean and unmarked.
Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.
What is settled, and what is not
A double picture disc, and the format is what makes the identification stand up. 7243 5 26605 1 3 reads off three places on the object that agree -- the sleeve barcode block, the inner-sleeve credits panel and the printed edge of both discs -- and one vinyl row of this master normalises to it: 1553386, UK & Europe, EMI, 2000, LP, Album, Picture Disc, Stereo. The picture-disc construction is a second reading, independent of the number: it is visible on all four sides and it is the one thing in that row's format string that the other nine vinyl rows do not share.
The run-outs were photographed on every side, and they carry only so far. 5266061 resolves on both sides of disc one and 5266071 on both sides of disc two, with the side letter legible on A, B and C. The stamper marks after each letter are etched and in frame, but cutting into clear vinyl over printed artwork leaves them far shallower than a black-lacquer deadwax, and they blur past reading at every angle photographed. The owner, holding the record, reads them as A-1-1-, B-1-1-, C-1-1- and D-1-1-; that is the reading that fills in side four's missing letter, and it is recorded as the owner's rather than as anything a frame here shows.
One candidate is not the same as proof. This master's version list is incomplete by construction, so a picture-disc pressing sharing the number and absent from Discogs cannot be ruled out. The signatures are part of this copy and of no edition: six in black marker across the gatefold spread, unauthenticated, and the note's attribution of them to the band is the owner's word, which no photograph can carry.
