Folder 109
The whole tracklist in Spanish, and Martin Birch credited as “Bufón de la Corte”. HARD ATTAK '85 printed on the front.
Every line below was read off a native-resolution crop of the photograph named beside it.
Run-out photographed, both sides. The string resolves to EJ 2.402.001-T- with the side letter following - the EMI international number punctuated with full stops, which is exactly the form Discogs records for this release as EJ-2.402.001-T-A and EJ-2.402.001-T-B. The dotted grouping is worth noting on its own: the Japanese copies in folders 106 and 107 and the European copy in folder 108 carry the same digits undotted. It corroborates the Argentine pressing without separating it from the promo, which was cut from the same metalwork.
As Discogs records them for release 3201319. Green: in my collection (2 of 2). Red: missing.

No other copy on this shelf translates anything.HARD ATTAK '85 printed on the front cover - EMI-Odeon's local metal campaign, and one of the two features Discogs names for this release.VENTA PROHIBIDA - PROMOCIONAL. The promotional copy of catalogue 8250 is defined by that print on its labels; these labels are clean, which is what makes this the commercial issue.AADI-CAPIF with SADAIC-BIEM - the Argentine performers' and producers' body alongside the authors' society, exactly the pair Discogs records for this release.Realizó: RUDY-SANTORO S.R.L. - the Buenos Aires sleeve printer, the kind of local print block that is usually specific to one release.DISCO ES CULTURA - the Argentine record-industry slogan carried on domestic sleeves of the period.EJ 2.402.001-T-A groups the same seven digits the Japanese and European copies stamp undotted.Bruce Dickinson - vocals · Dave Murray - lead and rhythm guitar · Adrian Smith - lead and rhythm guitar · Steve Harris - bass · Nicko McBrain - drums.
Produced, engineered and mixed by Martin Birch, assisted by Bruce Buchhalter and Frank Gibson. Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound. Recorded at Compass Point Studios, Nassau; mixed at Electric Lady Studios, New York. Sleeve illustration by Derek Riggs; sleeve and design concept by Derek Riggs, Iron Maiden and Rod Smallwood. Photography by Moshe Brakha. Published by Zomba Music Publishers Ltd.
Personnel and studio credits are sourced from Discogs release 1846534, the UK original, and apply to the recording rather than to this pressing. The producer, publisher and copyright lines are independently corroborated by this copy's own label, quoted above.
A photograph cannot grade a record - this is a description of what is visible, not a grade.
Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.
Confirmed. Argentina, 8250 and 81 2402001 are certain from both labels, the front cover and the spine. The fetched version list holds three 1984 Argentine entries and only two are vinyl LPs:
| Candidate | Verdict |
|---|---|
| 3201319 | Matches on every point Discogs states for it: “Argentinian version with ‘Heavy metal’ and ‘hard attack'85’ logos printed (front)”, “Spanish tracklist (back cover)”, “Beige EMI labels”, rights society AADI - CAPIF / SADAIC - BIEM, run-out EJ-2.402.001-T-A / -T-B. |
| 14782509 - Promo | Ruled out on the labels. Discogs gives its distinguishing feature as “Labels printed : ‘VENTA PROHIBIDA - PROMOCIONAL’”. Neither label here carries it. |
| 4860268 | Ruled out on format: a cassette (18250, 81 2402004), carrying the same campaign logos. |
Standing caveat: this method cannot exclude a pressing absent from Discogs.
Nothing material is open. ROLO in ballpoint on both labels is a provenance mark rather than a manufacturing one - worth recording because it is on the record, and worth not confusing with print.
