The object, and what marks it out
Sleeve, labels and inserts
- Outer sleeve - not the album cover. A plain red EMI company sleeve, the EMI logo repeated as a border along the top edge, with a small pasted card on the front reproducing this album's own cover art - Eddie over the ice field,
IRON MAIDENin the band logo above - and a typed tracklist card on the rear. Distributor logos run along the bottom edge. - Country of the sleeve - also Uruguay. The rear print names
R. & R. GIOSCIA S.A., EMI's Uruguayan licensee, and statesMade in Uruguay. So the record is not in a foreign jacket: sleeve and record agree on country, and this is not graded as a conflicting copy. Whether this particular sleeve is the one the copy left the plant in cannot be established from the photographs. - Labels - plain yellow paper, black text, red rim text, small red
EMIlogo at the foot. No artwork. This is a distinctly local design, unrelated to EMI's international globe label. - Promo overprint - a violet ink stamp reading

What distinguishes this pressing
Made in UruguayandAGADU. AGADU is the Uruguayan authors' society; it appears where the UK copy has nothing and the Greek copy hasAEPI.Disco es Cultura- "records are culture", a slogan carried by South American pressings of the period. It appears on neither of the European copies in this collection.Art. 79andLey 13.349- references to Uruguayan statute, printed on both the label and the company sleeve.C-1-90258/C-2-90258- a Capitol-derived number. Discogs shows the sameC1-90258catalogue number on the US, Canadian and Barbadian pressings; the European entries use the79 0258 1family instead.- The promo overprint, marking the copy as issued for broadcast with sale prohibited. What happened to it afterwards is not something the record can tell us.

Full personnel are as the UK original - see folder 1 - but this pressing's sleeve carries no credits of its own, so nothing further is claimed for it.
Condition, from the photographs
A photograph cannot grade a record - this is a description, not a grade.
- Company sleeve: light edge and corner wear, some creasing; the pasted front card is intact. It is a working sleeve, not a collector's cover.
- Vinyl: the labels are clean apart from the intended promo stamp. Surface sheen looks even in both shots, with light handling marks visible under the light. No visible deep scratches or warping in these photographs.
- Missing: the album's picture cover and inner sleeve are not present.
Nothing on this page comes from playing the record. No Goldmine grade is claimed for it, or any other. I have no record of where this copy came from.
What is settled, and what is not
Confirmed. Uruguay and catalogue 501 674-1 are certain - both are printed on the labels. Discogs lists two Uruguayan vinyl releases, and their identifiers are identical (Art. 79, AGADU, C-1-90258 / C-2-90258, 501 674-1 A / B), so those alone cannot separate them. Their track titles can:

The photographed labels print English titles only, with no Spanish translations anywhere. That rules out 10613697, independently of the promo stamp. The stamp then corroborates the survivor, which Discogs catalogues specifically as the promotional issue. 10613697 also carries the catalogue number SLPE 501.674, which appears nowhere on this copy, and was issued with a printed lyric insert that is not present here.
One assumption is worth naming: Discogs' tracklist for 10613697 is taken as describing that release's labels. If those Spanish titles were printed only on its cover, the elimination would weaken - though the missing SLPE 501.674 and the promo stamp would still point the same way.
Standing caveat: this method cannot exclude a pressing that is absent from Discogs altogether.
Still open - the stampers. Discogs holds no run-out data for either Uruguayan release. A photograph of the run-out groove on both sides would therefore be new information rather than a lookup, and worth capturing for that reason.
